by Andrew S. Morgenstern, OD, Derek Cunningham OD, Walter Whitley, OD, MBA, FAAO

Derek Cunningham, OD, of Dell Laser Consultants in Austin, Texas, and Walter Whitley, OD, MBA, of Virginia Eye Consultants in Norfolk, discuss corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL). Although it is not yet approved in the United States, several ongoing studies are evaluating CXL, and there is optimism the procedure will be available soon. Finally, Dr. Cunningham interviews Andrew Morgenstern, OD, of the Optometric Cross Linking Society, about the differences between epithelium-on and epithelium-off techniques for performing CXL and the outlook for how the procedure may fit in clinical practice.
