Tomography for Screening Refractive Patients

James Owen, OD, talks with William Tullo, OD, about screening patients for laser vision correction. Factors such as age and refraction are helpful, but analyzing the shape of the cornea, including the front and back elevations, is critical. Using anterior segment tomography allows clinicians to detect early signs of ectasia that might not manifest on topography. Dr. Tullo also explains why he has selected the Oculus Pentacam as his preferred tomography device.
