Introducing Nidek's F-10, a confocal Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope. While white light scatters in ocular media, the use of IR plus three visible wavelengths through confocal adjustable apertures provides better imaging at different depths of the retina. The F-10 uses four colors including: 490 nanometer blue, 532 nanometer green, 660 nanometer red, and 790 nanometer near infrared. The F-10 imaging uses higher contrast and resolution that yields better visualization for earlier diagnosis and follow-up of retina disease. Live videos of early fill analysis captures videos at up to 26 frames per second to verify detailed vessel filling over time. Through automatic composite imaging of the RGB, color is now possible. And with the addition of the Green, there is the ability to observe retina vasculature.
